A Saliva Test Could Help Treat Migraines
June 9th, 2009 by Tom Cobb
Most doctors say that drugs work in 65% of cases but they usually have to experiment to find which one is best for their patient. Many times migraines are misdiagnosed as sinus infections and patients receive incorrect treatment with antibiotics. Testing the saliva can confirm the presence of a migraine and help determine which drugs would be best for each patient. When people have pain in the head or face, it can change the level of proteins in their saliva. This would take a lot of guesswork out of what drugs can work for which patients.
