Sure, there are many 'natural' stress relievers and they are great. However, sometimes 'high tech' solutions can be extremely helpful by speeding up a person's awareness of their internal state which might otherwise take a significant amount of training.

What comes to mind is a yoga teachers referred for biofeedback even though she was already excellent in sensing internal states that were a part of their yoga practice but she had not developed other levels of awareness in her body (jaw tension, for example) and this lack of awareness generated symptoms. In this case, biofeedback monitoring turned out to be a rapid, effective bridge to increased awareness even in a person already significantly aware of her body. And, this is often the case with biofeedback; it is a rapid, accurate way to become aware of the body's internal state that might otherwise unavailable.
