Is Fructose Bad for You?
February 25th, 2010 by Tom Cobb
There have been many reports out in the media about fructose, particularly high fructose corn syrup and that it is harmful to the body. Fructose is in a variety of food products because it’s inexpensive. Many food companies replaced fat in foods with fructose. Unlike glucose, fructose by-passes the breakdown process and goes directly to the liver making it work even harder in order to process it. This can cause problems in the body and act as a toxin. Many are up in arms about this issue. There is a very informative video that was put out by a doctor named Robert Lustig that discusses the politics, science and health effects of fructose. Recently a rebuttal video has surfaced. It’s smart to be informed and now the facts in order to make your decision.
