Dandruff is a very common condition that affects at least 50% of the human population. Unfortunately there are many possible causes of dandruff. It can be caused from conditions like eczema and psoriasis or from yeast or fungus. The good news is that dandruff can be treated fairly easily but you really want to be able to prevent it. Sun exposure can be really helpful in preventing dandruff just be sure not to stay out so long that you get burned. Using a humidifier is also helpful to keep moisture in the air especially during the winter when the air is very dry. Dry skin can add to the build up of dandruff. Manage your stress as it can trigger or worsen the condition. Changing your diet can promote healthy skin and hair, add zinc, omega-3 fatty acids and B vitamins.
