Peaches and Plums May Kill Breast Cancer Cells
June 21st, 2010 by Tom Cobb
New research from Texas Agrilife shows that treatments involving peach and plum extracts killed off breast cancer cells. The two phenolic compounds responsible are chlorogenic and neochlorogenic. These are compounds that are very common in fruits but peaches and plums have the highest concentration levels. Two commercial varieties were used in the study, the “Rich Lady” peach and the “Black Splendor” plum. These extracts were used for treating two types of breast cancer cells, aggressive cancer cells, destroying them and amazingly leaving behind the normal health cells. This could be an amazing discovery and hopefully a path to a breast cancer cure.
