There have been warning about particular plastics being harmful to your health. Specifically BPA found in baby bottles and sippy cups, which can cause early puberty, a higher risk of breast cancer and other health issues. These risks are of more concern to newborns and small children. These plastics can leach out into liquids and foods.  What to look for is plastics with the number 7 which most likely contain BPA. Several stores including Walmart are reporting that within the year all of their baby bottles will be free of BPA. You can also find BPA free products online.
