Millions of students will head to college soon this article gives some advice to parents about how to help their children avoid problems. Students should know their medical history. They need to learn how to be proactive with their own health and be aware of their conditions and how to handle them away from home. It can be scary if your child becomes ill away from home, you won’t be there. Parents should also have contacts of their children’s resident advisor, emergency rooms numbers and campus police. Talk to your kids about the dangers of alcohol and drugs, they need to be aware of the risks. Educate them on stress-related issues; depression, sleeping and eating. Look for signs of these problems. Also it is very important that you talk to your children about sex, let them know your concerns and enable them in getting educated and protecting themselves.
