The best way to get the vitamins and minerals you need is through your food. Eating a variety of whole, natural foods, this means vegetables, fruits and whole grains. It also includes meats and/or fish and non-meat foods including protein. Supplements are helpful if your body cannot absorb enough of the vitamins you need. Minerals are important for the muscular system , nervous system and regulate fluid balance. The best way to get them is from your food as well. You may want to talk to your health care provider to see what you may be deficient in and to get an idea of what you may need to take to balance our intake.
